When you think about being somewhere whether it is through your state of mind or physical state of being, what does it actually mean to be there? Where is ‘there’ and what does being ‘there’ feel like?
Is it in your kitchen as you prepare a delicious lasagne just for tonight? Or is it your warm bath that allows every muscle in your body to give up to that sense of relaxation?
Is it your every morning jog? Or your long awaited trip to Jamaica?
Some may equate the sense of ‘being there’ to business achievements while others may tag it to their bank account statement. However, personally I find that my sense of being ‘already there’ varies from time to time as time goes by despite whatever circumstance I find myself in. As long as it puts a smile to my soul, then I am ‘already there.’

A few years ago, I met Andre Remesses Scheepers and we instantly connected on music magically and the rest is history creating a beautiful connection that has birthed a refreshing brand-new story.
On some days, it was music from 9:00 am till midnight and on others it was music all through the night without realising where time may have left us. One morning when Andre started playing these chords, I let myself go because I was already there.
Andre Scheepers is a South African song writer who has worked with many local artists including Tasha Baxter, Chiano Sky, Bobby Van Jaarsveld and Jesse Clegg to name but a few.
On this track, Sxeeps collaborated with songstress Tamara Dey to write the lyrics.
“I was fascinated by the calypso style, and island style rhythm.” Says Andre.
“Calypso is a style of Afro-Caribbean music that originated in Trinidad and Tobago during the early to mid-19th century and eventually spread to the rest of the Caribbean Antilles and Venezuela by the mid-20th century. Its rhythms can be traced back to West African Kaiso and the arrival of French planters and their slaves from the French Antilles in the 18th century.”
He explains further that this song is about escaping from your current situation and somehow as long as you are with the one you love, you could be anywhere in the world.
“Already There” depicts a fantasy of luxury and travel from the comfort of your own home.”
“It was an obvious choice and an honour to have the Kenyan-born beauty Liz Ogumbo lend her exotic voice to the track. She brings a tropical and whimsical mood to the song that no one else can.” In response, I am grateful that our 1st collaboration which I describe as Rustic-Sensual. Andre shares.
