Visiting Lagos this rainy season? Here are some essentials you didn’t think you’d need

Lagos rainy season: Lekki-Ikoyi bridge

If you are planning to travel down to Lagos, Nigeria, and you plan to be outside this rainy season, here are the things you must know. Nigeria has just two seasons: the wet and the dry. June to September is the heart of the rainy season, and this simply means frequent rainfall in the southwest. Lagos Island has more rainfall because of its proximity to the sea, but this doesn’t stop the hustle and bustle of the city. The city remains active and full of life. I’m sure you don’t wanna miss out on all the fun.

Taxi App

Weather forecasts are good but not always 100% accurate, you never know when the unexpected will come. To avoid getting stranded because of the rain, it’s good to have a functioning taxi app that works in Lagos. That way, you can haul a can and make your way home to your warm bed. Even if you find a place to stay while it rains, you’ll still need to get home when it stops. And take it from me, sometimes it rains throughout the day. Long raincoat/umbrella

Don’t forget to pack a compact umbrella before stepping out. It’s your first line of defence when it starts to rain. No one should visit Lagos to start indoors when there are lots of places to go and have fun. For outdoor activities, raincoats are just perfect. They are quite helpful in staying dry on heavy rain and heavy drizzle days; they are also your best protection from splashed water.

Waterproof bag

You definitely don’t want to get your phone and other valuable items ruined, so it is quite essential to protect your belongings from water damage. Travel to Lagos with a waterproof bag, and you won’t have to worry about your things when it rains. They come in handy when it doesn’t really rain too; it’s generally a wet season and there’s water everywhere.

Small-sized towel

You would be really happy you had one when the need came up to use it. Water could get on your body or your thing at moments you least expect, and it might really suck if you get irritable. Do well to keep a small piece of towel in your bag to mop off unwanted liquids. Stay up to date on the newest in the world of Fashion, Arts, Beauty and Lifestyle; Follow FAB on socials.

Insect  Repellent

Mosquitoes and other insects thrive during the wet season, it is practically their bloom season. To avoid insect bites, which might lead to malaria and other insect-related problems, do well to pack a repellent cream or spray. You sure will be glad that you did.
