Abdurahman Ssuubi

Abdurahman Ssuubi, is the founder of Saints Clothing and Saints Children’s Foundation. He is a young Ugandan fashion entrepreneur who is weaving together fashion, philanthropy, and cultural celebration. Despite his Vitiligo skin condition, nothing has been able to stop Ssuubi from pushing boundaries to launch a fashion brand SAINTS Clothing.  

At UniversityAbdurahman Ssuubi studied public administration and  has always been drawn to initiatives that improve lives. This social conscience is the driving force behind his  Saints Clothing, a fashion brand with a mission that extends beyond stylish apparel. Ssuubi envisioned Saints Clothing to not only produce high-quality clothing but also give back to the Ugandan community.

Alongside Saints clothing is Saints children’s foundation,a  charitable arm that embodies Ssuubi’s commitment to social responsibility. Over 50 % of the proceeds from Saints clothing are invested into education, healthcare initiatives, and economic empowerment programs in Saints children’s foundation. Abdurahman Ssuubi  believes that every child deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential.

As a person Living with Vitiliogo, Ssuubi’s own experience fuels his advocacy for inclusivity and body positivity within the fashion industry. He aims to break down barriers and celebrate the unique beauty of all individuals giving hope to people living with Vitiligo regardless of their skin condition. Through Saints Clothing’s designs and campaigns, Ssuubi promotes diversity and self-acceptance.

Saints Clothing’s most recent collection is name  “Unity Threads,” it is a  streetwear collection  that features vibrant artwork and Islamic-inspired designs, promoting a message of inclusivity and faith. The collection was born from a desire to combat misconceptions about the brand’s religious affiliation and celebrate Islamic art and culture.

Abdurahman Ssuubi actively collaborates with a diverse range of artists, designers, and organizations which has broadened his perspective, expanded his network and allowed him create impactful content.  Some of his notable Ugandan collaboration include personalities  like Lynda Ddane,  Maurice Kirya, DJ Etania, Reach A Hand Uganda, and St. Lawrence School and Colleges. Through these collaborations, Ssuubi has learned the invaluable power of innovation, creativity in bringing about social change.

Saints Clothing distinguishes itself from other brands through a commitment to unique, and stylish fashion products. Drawing inspiration from streetwear and broader cultural trends, the brand experiments with innovative fashion styles and  trendy fashion products  pushing the boundaries of conventional fashion. 

  Beyond just styles, every fashion product  tells a story, imbued with meaning.

When asked about his perspective regarding the fashion and art industry in Uganda, Ssuubi observed that Uganda has a new generation of talented designers, artists, and creatives emerging, shaping the industry’s landscape. He is particularly excited about the incorporation of traditional Ugandan textiles, patterns, and techniques into modern designs. ‘The Unique fusion of African heritage with global trends promises a unique and captivating aesthetic’. Says Suubi
